Water
In an effort to reduce how much water the perFORM[D]ance House consumes, selection of water efficient appliances and fixtures was very important. Low-flow faucets, shower head, toilet, washing machine and dishwasher were chosen for their water conservation capabilities. In addition, the perFORM[D]ance House collects rainwater from the roof to be stored and filtered in the pool located on the north side of the house. This water can then be reused to water the landscape plants and edible garden.
How does this affect us?

If everyone in Miami made these changes, it would lessen the strain on our fresh water supply by 32%, thus combating salt water intrusion into the biscayne aquifer.
